As a Product Manager on the C.O.R.E. Product team, you will design and deliver best in class, innovative and data driven technology products that delight customers. We’re passionate about building platform software for the next generation of technologists at Capital One and are looking for someone excited to build tech platforms at scale.
In this role, you will be a Product Manager focused on the software automation, cloud infrastructure, data infrastructure, production reliability, and recovery platforms. These products are focused on the Software Engineer user base enabling data, recovery, resiliency and reliability for their Software applications. In addition, the products you lead will provide the abstraction layer for Software Engineers on the cloud performing data analysis and implementing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence capabilities.
In this role, you’ll learn the essentials of being a product manager, and we’ll invest in you to grow in four key areas:
Human Centered
You’ll collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria, identifying and elevating any need for additional research to define future feature design
You'll breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories, driving your team towards lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for a valid feature test
Business Focused
Demonstrate a growth mindset - effectively use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure your product or feature delivers on real business needs
Support in prioritizing feature development roadmaps, ensuring all necessary processes and procedures are followed to manage risk
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
Customer’s Spokesperson
Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and drive Product growth by aligning it to Capital One’s mission.
Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
Technology Driven
Work autonomously in an agile environment, to conduct research and develop features that utilize new and evolving technology
Collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists and subject-matter experts to build cutting edge solutions to help customers
Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in product management or at least 5 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Understanding of Resilience Engineering and Chaos Engineering concepts
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - certification or extensive experience in AWS
MBA or Master’s degree
5+ years of experience in Agile product management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr. Mgr, Product ManagementSan Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site): $210,900 - $240,700 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
