Civil Superintendent
KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.
KBR is looking for a Civil Superintendent to be responsible for the daily operations for site development on the Sonangol project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. This role will supervise and direct the daily project team by providing input to identify key success factors, daily efforts of the technical and administrative, while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and schedule, timing of design, procurement deliverables, and establishing common work breakdown structures. Provides leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of services and is responsible for the execution of Civil services, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction cost. Evaluates Civil service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on the scope. Monitors the implementation of safety orientations, safety indoctrinations and gang box meetings and provides coaching for improvement. Monitors crews for organizational structure sizing crew mix ratios and wage compliance. Reviews and monitors cost and man-hour budget for installation process and develops a staff facilities equipment and tool requirement plan.
***This position will mobilize to Angola***
Responsibilities:
- Early site Civil establishment and site improvement
- Subcontractor oversight, shop drawing review and processing
- Documentation of contract changes
- Daily communication with owner, architect, engineer, and other stakeholders
- Monitor EPC contractors’ Civil works
- All required owner and in-house reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- 5 + years of progressive experience in heavy civil constructions
- Must have experience working in field construction environment
