Schwab Advisor Custody and Trading (ACT) is the leading provider of custodial, operational, and trading support for independent fee-based investment advisors. The Advisor Services Cost Basis Team services all Schwab advisors with their tax, cost basis and statement needs. Daily tasks include answering phone calls discussing Schwab’s cost basis offering, answer tax reporting and statement questions, researching corporate actions and offering flexible solutions that best fit each advisor’s needs. We pride ourselves in providing superior customer service while being detail-oriented. A successful Advisor Services Cost Basis Associate loves to learn and excels in a fast-paced, challenging, and professional environment.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Answer in-bound calls from Advisors, AS Service and Alliance representatives
- Respond to client and service team requests received via email
- Conduct training for Advisors and Business Partners
- Accurately process statement and cost basis enrollment forms
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of 'challenging the status quo,' this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess the ability to conduct superior follow-up, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- 6+ months Customer Service experience (internships and collegiate activities will be considered)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple processes/projects
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team orientation, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
- Knowledge in internet-based research, personal workstations/desktop applications
- Intermediate Excel skills- ability to handle large amounts of data using Excel
- Bachelor’s degree or 1+ year experience in the financial industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with regulatory or risk issues
- SIE or Series 7
- Cost basis and tax knowledge
