Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. The Role:
As a Body Shop Business Manager, you will have Supervisory responsibility for a medium/large group of employees in the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area in the production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). May manage across multiple shifts. You will maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues. You will build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management, and understand to consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
What You’ll Do:

Manage Production Group Leaders and execution of shop floor standardized work

Participate in BPD reviews at all levels and perform regular BPD level 4/5/ and workstation layered audits

Accountable to coach and drive actions for DRR/DRL related items (Diamonds 1-3)

Ensures Containment is in place and repair direction is provided to technicians in Final Process

Coordinates material usage and track scrap material to assure it is processed correctly.

Participate in Staff Safety Observation Tour

Conduct Performance Reviews for Direct Reports

GMS - Coach/Teach/Support - (BIQ 4 Audit Readiness) and Provide Quality/BIQ updates during Planning/Staff Meeting

Escalate and follow up on employee safety concerns

Attend GMS Basketweave Meeting

Daily Scrap Tracking: Review of open tags, Final Process scrap

Assist with Set-ins/Setouts
