As a Visa Staff Software Engineer, you will be a part of multiple teams tasked with projects ranging from building full stack development of REST Service APIs, Back-end Batching applications, and Web Front-End User Interfaces that are highly functional, secure, scalable, and robust. Job Description and Responsibilities
Supports relationship with product owners to gather and refine requirements for one product task, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions within a product.
Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
Begins to develop and design architect solutions, considering integrations with other solutions.
Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology.

Essential Functions
Partner closely with multi-functional teams to produce an application that flows seamlessly and works intuitively with our merchants.
Come up with creative solutions to solve problems.
Be comfortable in leading communication with non-technical teams.
Work with architecture team on research & analyses of newer technologies for the next generation of Payment Services.
Share knowledge with others and mentor junior team members to guide them in improving code quality
Develops enhancements and modifications to existing software and develops extensible code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
Implements automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools and supports development and implementation of new automation.
Engages with product engineering teams and product owners during code/design reviews, regular meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
Leverages advanced knowledge of systems/platforms and telemetry analyses to propose isolated improvements in code, processes, and designs to more effectively deliver on customer/business objectives.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Knowledge of and ability to develop Full-stack Web Applications using Java, Spring framework, React, JavaScript code in for product development. This includes the extension of capabilities of packages and products.
- The ability to develop and utilize Application Program Interfaces (APIs), RESTful API design, protocols, and tools for building software applications that specify how software components should interact and are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components. An API may be for a web-based system, operating system, database system, computer hardware, or software library.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use database software (e.g., applications, web-based applications, information systems) to maintain, modify, and output data.
- Knowledge of systems integration process in which separately produced components or subsystems are combined and problems in their interactions are addressed.
- Knowledge of data structures, which consist of data organization, management, and storage formats that enable efficient access and modifications. This includes a collection of data values, the relationships among them, and the functions or operations that can be applied to the data.
- Knowledge of CICD - Jenkins Pipeline, Git, JIRA.
- Knowledge of Security – Authentication and Authorization.
- Requirements gathering and refinement.
- Software design, development and systems integration.
- Design documentation.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 172,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
