Sr. Facilities Maintenance Manager
This position is in Smithfield NC and the Sr. Maintenance and Facilities Manager will oversee the development and implementation of test manufacturing equipment. The incumbent will also have the responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance/repair of tools, machines, and fixtures for use in the manufacturing environment.
What you will do:
• Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional areas of maintenance.
• Drive projects to improve process reliability, process flow, improved productivity, etc.
• Analyzes production requirements and workload to prepare project budgets and schedules.
• Monitors project timelines; and ensures production deadlines are met.
• Communicates any significant delays, problems, or changes affected by maintenance processes to the site leadership team.
• Oversees the preparation and distribution of detailed technical reports; evaluates and implements recommendations required to resolve production and operational problems.
• Evaluates systems; make recommendations for updating facility processes and procedures to increase efficiency and production.
• Provide input on layouts of manufacturing equipment to ensure the most efficient and productive layout based on Lean methodologies and continuous improvement feedback.
• Familiar with PLC programming, connectivity, and program creation or modification.
• Maintain the operation of 25+ CNC machining centers, 20+ 50-ton hydraulic presses, extrusion lines, roto molding machine, plasma cutter, welders, automated assembly lines, 50+ CTS test stands.
• Assists with or leads troubleshooting complex machines with associates of the maintenance team to determine root cause issues and repair. Maintain a robust PM program through our MVP system. Manage parts and inventory levels of key spare parts through the MVP system.
• Conduct performance management that is timely and constructive
• Hire and manage maintenance and facilities staff.
What you will Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent Facilities Equipment Management experience.
• 8 years of related experience required.
• Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Implementation experience of pneumatic, hydraulic, motorized, and/or robotic systems for use of in-house automated manufacturing and assembly systems.
• Low voltage control circuit design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with high voltage (480) relays, overloads, motors, pumps, etc.
• PLC programming experience and other control systems.
• Experience with milling machines, lathes, and other various tools in a machine shop Environment.
• Automated equipment design and maintenance experience including controls systems using PLCs, HMIs, and computer-based systems and their respective programming platforms.
• Familiar with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of testing protocols and results analysis.
• Strong understanding of production principles and procedures.
