General Function:
Release and update internal shop orders. Purchase raw materials. Provide lead times to internal customers. Track, monitor, and update shortages and communicate those with other departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Release and update internal work orders.
- Purchase raw material needed for internal manufacturing.
- Review and react to expedite and de-expedite requirements for shop orders and raw material purchases.
- Work with Sourcing to outsource and insource as needed for capacity, and ensure decisions consider pricing and delivery.
- Proven technical skills with proven ability to accurately manage material requirements.
- Proven ability to accurately navigate and interface with production planning systems including planning and scheduling software, inventory control systems - including IFS.
- Process Add/Deletes
- Review Change Orders, make determinations on actions needed and send out action item notifications.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
- Promote continuous improvement methods relative to scheduling/planning.
- Understand MRP logic, manufacturing capabilities and limitations, to determine how capacities and lead times are calculated in the business enterprise system.
- Proactively and accurately manage stockroom.
- Proven ability to manage and continually align stockroom inventory against ever-changing external and internal schedules.
- Understand capacity constraints by process/work center and assess capacity risk.
- Ensure lead times are accurate and maintained in ERP system.
- Monitor and report shortages.
- Review planning parameters and make recommendations on updates and systematic changes.
- Monitor Spares report and keep updated.
Required Education:
High School Diploma required.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Business or related degree
Experience:
Minimum 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
