Position Overview
Kiewit Corporation is seeking a self-motivated individual to work as a Tax Intern in our Corporate Tax Department in Omaha, NE. This department is responsible for tax research and planning, income tax, transaction tax (sales & use, VAT, GST) property tax, and tax incentives. The successful candidate’s initial assignment will with the Property Tax and Incentives group. The Tax Intern will be responsible for work that is meaningful to the success of the department and the company. They will work as an active member of the team throughout the year.

Location
This position is based out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Responsibilities
• Preparation of property tax workpapers and returns
• Analyze and review assessment notices
• Reconciliation of property tax bills to ensure accruate payments
• Research and gather data for property tax appeals and audits
• Ensure timely preparation and completion of tax incentive compliance
• Monitor and analyze impact of tax legislation
• Support ongoing and new projects within the department
Qualifications
The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree emphasizing Accounting
• 3.0 or higher GPA
• Willing to work in Omaha, NE
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
• High level of drive / motivation
• Willing to work 40 hours per week during summer months
• Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
