Job Summary
Fortune 250 company seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation as a Technology Leadership Development Associate (LDA). Leadership Development Associates participate in a 12-month program aimed at developing the skills of future business leaders within the Technology organization. The Technology LDA creates innovative applications, processes, and tools that support business needs and enable business growth. LDAs serve as key members of product and software engineering teams to discover business opportunities which lead to the design, development, and sustainability of high quality software. The LDA will work in a full-time position in CSX Technology while also participating in a structured orientation and career development program to increase their knowledge of CSX and the railroad industry.
The Leadership Development Program will provide opportunities for the associate to learn fundamental concepts of the railroad industry, visit field locations, meet CSX leadership, and work with other associates in the program.
*** Please Note: The CSX Leadership Development Program is scheduled to begin in June 2025. There may be opportunities to start earlier, depending on your graduation date.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
Leadership Development Professionals will be placed with a technology team based on their skills, aspirations, and active company initiatives. An LDA may work with one or more teams including: Applications Development, Product Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science & Analytics, Cybersecurity, Agile Delivery, Enterprise Engineering (including Mobility, DevOps, and Cloud), User Experience, IT Operations, Integrations/API, Project Management, Robotics/Drones, and Service Support.
Regardless of team placement, all technology LDAs play an important role in advancing and delivering Technology initiatives. The expectations of these compensated positions include but are not limited to:
- Active contribution in a dynamic, agile team environment
- Adherence to best practices for developing and maintaining secure systems
- Root-cause analysis to iterate improvement and increase reliability and efficiency
- Engagement across teams and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and value delivery
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and IT specific certifications
- 2 or more years of experience in Information Technology/Transportation/Intermodal Operations, Information Systems, or Industrial Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the above qualifications, any of the following are preferred:
- Knowledge of Supply Chain and Operations Management to ensure the efficient utilization of resources
- Knowledge of cloud and low code (Microsoft Power Platform) technologies
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization of workflow and system
- Knowledge of risk and cost analysis to ensure resource optimization with risk-to-benefit valuation
- Knowledge of web (Angular/Java) programming concepts and technologies
- Knowledge of relational, document, and/or graph database concepts and functions
- Knowledge of DevOps, cybersecurity, and integration practices and concepts
- Knowledge of statistical, simulation, modeling, analytical and related programming languages (Python)
- Knowledge of Quality Management methods and techniques
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and influence skills
- Problem-solving, analysis, organizational, and time management skills
- Agile team roles and methodologies
- Fosters a culture of innovation
- Pattern and dependency recognition supporting the development of sustainable and adaptable systems in various domains and contexts
