Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is looking for a Utility Engineer to join our team. This job position will support project pursuits and awarded projects by coordinating and managing utilities on a variety of Kiewit’s largest projects. The candidate should possess enough experience to be considered a subject matter expert in the field of utility construction and be familiar with infrastructure utility coordination. The utilities team is integral to the pursuit, engineering and construction project team to ensure we provide the best service possible to each client.
Our work includes but is not limited to: water, sewer, gas, petroleum, electric transmission & distribution (aerial and underground), telecom fiber & copper (aerial and underground).
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. This position could be based out of our Westlake, TX Offices, or Lone Tree, CO Engineering HQ
Responsibilities
- Support the Utility Design Coordinator and Utility Manager for the successful creation of utility design plans
- Administer the submittal process and perform project controls claiming for status
- Perform quality reviews and checks of design submittals
- Design oversight and coordination for utility owner designs and design subconsultants
- Weekly tracking of milestone progress for deliverables and reporting of status
- Scheduling future milestone due dates and managing towards them
- Cross discipline communication
- Support for utility owner and possibly client meetings
- This position would transition into our Westlake office after their project duties are done and to be a part of our pursuit team
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction or Engineering Preferred but not required
- 4+ Years of Utility coordination, engineering or construction experience
- Design build utility engineering or utility coordination experience highly preferred
- Abillity to open and view design references files within Bentley Microtation
- Experience with Open Roads Designer is preferred.
- Familiar with TxDOT UAR
- Basic knowledge of SUE and ASCE 38-22 Codes.

Base Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
