RSM is actively searching for a seasoned and self-driven Sales and Use Tax Automation Senior Associate to enhance our thriving State and Local Sales and Use Transaction Tax Automation (TTA) practice. As a Transaction Tax Automation (TTA) Senior Associate within RSM’s State and Local Indirect Tax practice, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with senior team members in the delivery of client engagements focused on optimizing indirect tax technology processes and system solutions.
- Providing valuable insights and contribute innovative ideas to the development of automated solutions, supporting clients in achieving indirect tax compliance processes and system infrastructure.
- Actively supporting the development of applications on diverse software platforms, ensuring proficiency in tools like Alteryx, Power BI, and Postman.
- Performing a key role in projects dedicated to designing and implementing enhanced processes and systems that align with clients' evolving indirect tax compliance requirements.
- Fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues across Advisory, Tax, and Consulting lines of business, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach in delivering exceptional client service.
- Engaging in collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of excellent client service.
- Providing crucial support to the national TTA team, maintaining a consistent high level of client service and industry knowledge, globally.
- Directly corresponding with clients on daily tasks and matters essential to supporting the implementation of various indirect tax technology platforms, such as Avalara, Thomson Reuters OneSource for Indirect Tax, and Vertex.
- Offering timely performance feedback and coaching to develop supervised staff, fostering a growth-oriented environment.
- Identifying opportunities to collaborate and integrate coordinated client services with other lines of business, promoting an integrated approach.
- Effectively identifying and managing risks associated with internal and external communications and activities, ensuring project scope remains within RSM compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science
- Requires a minimum of 2+ years’ experience providing Indirect Tax consulting services.
- Functional and technical experience with various Enterprise Resource Planning systems (i.e., NetSuite; Microsoft Dynamics; Oracle; PeopleSoft; SAP).
- Requires CPA, EA or other accredited designation which demonstrates above average knowledge of sales and use tax application (i.e., CMI, APS).

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $72,600 - $137,500
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
