Summary: The Staff Accountant will assist with the monthly closing process, preparation of Journal Entries, assist with AP/AR/Inventory issues and development of various financial and management reports of business performance using Power BI. This involves assisting in the implementation and maintenance of finance policies, SOX controls and monthly reporting, and prepares.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business Administration, or related field
Experience: 1-2 years of general accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with accounting software and programs such as Oracle, SAP or similar ERP financial systems, Sage Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Power BI and ability to creates reports.
- Advance skills in Excel, Pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and 10 key
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports month-end and quarter-end closing.
- Prepares various journal entries and performs monthly accounts reconciliation to ensure compliance with company accounting standards.
- Prepares timely and accurate accounting reports.
- Assists with AP/AR issues.
- Assists with Inventory issues.
- Assists with annual standard costing updates including labor rates and overhead costs.
- Assists in other financial projects and prepares ad hoc reports as requested.
- All other duties as assigned.
