Sales Training Manager
What does a successful Sales Training Manager do?
The Sales Training Manager will design, implement and oversee comprehensive sales training programs, including sales leadership training and onboarding that can be leveraged across the enterprise to enhance the skills and performance of our quota bearing sales team. You will develop tailored training materials, determine the best approach for delivery (which may include partnering with eLearning development colleagues as needed), conduct training sessions virtually and in-class, and evaluate program effectiveness. You will collaborate with the broader Sales Training and Enterprise Talent & Development team to ensure that efforts align with overall company objectives and foster a positive learning environment.
What you will do:
- Create, develop and deliver both the sales onboarding (first 90 days) and sales leadership/manager training process/program, curricula/training materials, manuals/guides, and resources, ensuring they are aligned with the latest industry trends and company strategies; including a blend of assigned virtual and eLearning courses (such as business/industry acumen, client engagement/sales framework, enablement tools, solutions ) for new sales associate and sales hiring managers and in-person training curricula tailored specifically for sales leaders.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales training courses and programs aligned to strategic sales priorities, including eLearning, virtual and in-person venues in partnership with other members of the sales training team; conduct group and individual training, providing hands-on coaching and support.
- Stay updated with sales training best practices and incorporate innovative training methodologies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of sales onboarding and training programs through observation, feedback (participants/leaders), and metrics (e.g., surveys, focus groups, utilization of expected tools/techniques, revenue trends, proficiency/performance, etc.), adjusting approach and design as necessary.
- Ensure consistent and effective sales onboarding and training administration including coordination, communications, invitations, tracking (in the LMS), and reporting.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment to promote professional growth leveraging best in class methods (e.g., interactive design, learning paths, rewards/badging, gamification, etc.).
- Partner with other sales training colleagues to ensure excellence, alignment and consistency.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
- 7+ years of proven experience in sales or sales training within a large organization
- Experience with innovative training methodologies and best practices
What would be great to have:
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software and e-learning platforms.
- Knowledge of innovative training methodologies and best practices.
- Experience designing and delivering sales training; confidence in creating compelling presentations and training materials and operating in front of a small and large audience.
- Ability to navigate a global, complex and matrixed work environment
- Financial Services experience
