Job Overview & Responsibilities
United Launch Alliance is seeking an Aerospace Inventory Specialist. This individual will perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, and organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse per established procedures. This position is 4x10 Monday-Thursday but may require working weekends and different shifts to support operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving
- Assist with unloading of incoming goods.
- Verify receipt of purchased goods; locate product, process documentation and complete all necessary transactions.
- Stage incoming goods for disposition, dispatch, or stocking.
Warehouse Management (Centralized and Forward Stocking Locations)
- Maintain a computerized storeroom inventory through oversight and verification of stock issuances, receiving, reorder activity, and physical verification of stock quantities.
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Assist in physical inventory cycle counting.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Pick parts, kits and products from appropriate inventory locations to fill orders. Stage in controlled areas until issued.
- Assist in resolution of problems concerning control of inventory related to compliance with established requirements or specifications.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness, at all times. Wear proper safety equipment.
- Material deliveries to various local facilities.
- Process and respond to dispatch requests for material movements.
- Issue materials to requestor on site if required.
Shipping
- Generate/Process shipping documents.
- Prepare for and package domestic and international shipments.
- Assist in loading of outgoing goods.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Perform periodic pick up and deliveries.
- Process and respond to dispatch requests for materials movement.
- Issue materials to requestor “over the counter” at stocking locations if required other duties as assigned.
Required Education
High School/GED
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver's license and personal transportation to drive between work locations.
- Must have the ability to obtain forklift license.
- Ability to operate company vehicles and Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, lift-trucks, pallet-jacks, and other material handling equipment in the movement/delivery of materials.
- Ability to successfully complete the required SAP training and show acceptable skill level in the Inventory Management and Warehouse Management modules.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed written work instructions and other printed or graphical instruction.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions when required. (ex. rain and heat).
- Ability to lift/push/carry up to 35 lbs., climb stairs or ladders, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, work overhead, and reach above shoulder level.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends and different shifts to support operations.
- May require specialized training for packaging, handling, and transporting sensitive equipment, dangerous goods, and ordnance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity of SAP.
