We are seeking a strong risk leader in our Credit Policy Administration team which is part of our Credit Risk Administration (CRA) team.

About the Role
The Policy Professional will partner with their assigned Line of Business, other Risk Management Professionals and Managers to, depending on their function, create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework through the establishment, modification, review and governance of credit policy. They may participate in projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. They may identify gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors. They may actively identify, respond and/or escalate risks as appropriate. They may inform policies and procedures to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure. They may serve as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense. Separately, the individual will implement, manage and monitor a new policy workflow system.
In this role, you will support U.S. Bancorp’s Credit Policy Administration team through:
Implementing and managing an automated platform for the credit policy process, including platform development requirements, monitoring, and management reporting.
Partnering with portfolio managers to manage and execute policy changes
Editing existing policy manual language and writing new policy content.
Identifying gaps or other issues and providing recommendations for proposed policy revisions to appropriately enhance the policy framework while ensuring continued strong risk management.
Assessing the impact of potential credit policy changes through research and analysis of credit data and trends related to policy risk topics.
Balancing the bank’s risk tolerance, credit culture, and regulatory expectations with initiatives to simplify and streamline credit policy.
Monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of policy through key process indicators.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills
- Strong collaboration, credit policy knowledge, process management and attention to detail.
- Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills.
- Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business (Wholesale Banking).
- Considerable understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.
- Considerable knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
- Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
- Applicable professional certifications preferred.
- Strong project management, implementation, and understanding of process workflow design.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
