This position is based in Plano, TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Who We’re Looking For:
Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Cloud Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer, Platforms, to take a leadership role in our cloud engineering initiatives. In this position, you will leverage your extensive expertise to design, implement, and maintain advanced cloud platforms while ensuring adherence to Toyota’s cloud standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as a principal expert and mentor for the cloud engineering team, guiding day-to-day engineering activities and best practices.
- Design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge automated cloud environments that support our DevOps initiatives.
- Establish and uphold technical standards for development and operations, including coding standards, repository management, infrastructure pipelines, and departmental best practices.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, incorporating innovative ideas from the industry to enhance our platforms and processes.
- Provide thought leadership in areas such as DevOps, cloud automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud operations, influencing team direction and strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to a streamlined DevOps practice, including recruitment efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of designs and best practices, including architecture decision records (ADRs), repository documentation, and Confluence entries.
What You Bring:
- Extensive hands-on experience in DevOps engineering with a strong focus on cloud platforms.
- Proven leadership experience in guiding and mentoring DevOps or cloud engineering teams.
- Significant background in software development, with proficiency in automation scripting and engineering practices.
- Excellent skills in Terraform, AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Ansible, Helm, and Make.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to EKS/ECS, WAF, Lambda, API Gateway, and IAM.
- Experience with security standards, disaster recovery (DR), high availability (HA) infrastructure, and reliability engineering.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CDK using Python or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCP), and AWS Config.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java, Go, or JavaScript for front-end and back-end development.
- AWS or cloud certifications are a plus.
