Job Summary
Serves in an Operations Safety position responsible for protecting and building CSX's brand and reputation as a leader in safety and operations excellence in the areas of Positive Train Control (PTC) deployment and training. Job will serve as a training position for Positive Train Control.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Manage, create and administer standard processes such as PTC deployment and structured training process development.
- Manage and administer events such as providing appropriate application of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
- Represent CSX on regulatory and industry working groups such as Association of American Railroads (AAR), FRA, Railroad Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC), and Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR).
- Manage and administer projects such as cross-functional teams, developing working relationships with key business partners, liaison between operating departments and field operations, tracking progress, timelines, and interdependencies, and resolving complex operating issues.
- Responsible to manage the logistics of delivering training across the network
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Locomotive Engineer or Road Foreman of Engines
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 or more years of experience in Locomotive Engineer or Road Foreman of Engines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 5 or more years of experience in Road Foreman of Engines or DTRCO-DSRCO Remote Control Operator Instructor/Trainer
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience in Railroad Operations
- Lean / Six Sigma Process Improvement
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of operating rules, locomotive systems, CSX network operations, signals, train handling, and braking applications
- Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards
- Written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret multiple resources, including advanced technical materials
- Ability to navigate and develop working relationships at all levels across the CSX system
- Ability to lead others for continuous improvement in safety, train handling, and operating rules
- Ability to analyze and solve complex operating problems
- Ability to facilitate interdepartmental communication and demonstrate personal leadership, and demonstrate functional and technical agility.
