Wire Tech/ Electrician Apprentice-
Is responsible for wiring transformers, panels, and various devices on the unit per engineering drawings safely with quality workmanship, in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies, procedures, and plant operations. Employee will be required to participate in Johnson Controls Training Program where they will gain knowledge, experience, and efficiency associated with the role of an Electrician, gaining a basic understanding of Electrical Safe Work practices associated with energized units. This role requires the employee to be Arc Flash Certified (In House) within 30 days of employment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Wire (PLC) transformers, microprocessors, and junction boxes.
- Assemble and wire control panels per engineering drawings.
- Do conduit layout of standard units in accordance with National Electrical
- Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards.
- Identify and wire all devices to a standard unit.

Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Work from written and oral instructions, prints or sketches. Vision corrected to 20/20. Handling equipment and material (frequently).

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Manufacturing – Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), cold/heat (outdoor). Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Tape measure, hand tools, power tools and drills. Power Stands up to 575 Volts. Multi-meters, Hi-Pot, Vertical band saws, Cranes, Impacts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of 6 months of general electrical experience in manufacturing, automotive, residential, or certification program. Possess a basic understanding of P&ID on electrical drawings as applicable. Use hand tools and electrical equipment. General basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge required. As a condition of employment, active participation in a Continuous Improvement Team and Training is required.
