Job Profile Title: Tooling Technician
Location/Division Specific Information – Gurnee, IL
How will you make an impact? -
Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing, automation robotics facility, assuming overall responsibility for financial success, staffing, production, quality and customer satisfaction. Establish business plans that aim towards improving competitive edge, profitability, and quality.
What will you do? -
Perform preventive maintenance on molds and components.
Provides process improvement recommendations and forecasts any potential quality or production issues from tooling lead
Runs all manual shop equipment as required; mill, surface grinder and lathe
Troubleshoot and analyze problems before any repairs are initiated
Communicate verbally and in writing with other technicians, supervisors and management to insure ongoing product quality and tool maintenance
Assist in maintaining and cataloging spare component inventories
Support and maintain company safety and quality programs and initiatives
Other responsibilities as assigned
How will you get here? -
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Experience:
Experience in injection molding environment with a min. of 3 years in mold repair is required
Experience as a mold maker
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
The ability to squat to lift and move 50+ pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must have the ability to Use a computer, hand tools, machining tools, movable stairs, overhead crane, and safety equipment
Communicate verbally and in writing with a good command of the English language is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Similar manufacturing experience in tool making/ mold setting and tool repair is preferred
Trade Certification or equivalent years of work experience in plastics molding
An equivalent combination of education, training or experience will be considered
