Basic Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age or older
• No experience required and on the job training provided
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
Preferred Qualifications: • Customer service experience
• 1 year of similar work experience
Responsibilities: - Operating equipment: Safely and efficiently operating recycling equipment, such as balers, forklifts, and processing equipment
- Sorting materials: Separating recyclable materials into appropriate containers, such as metals, glass, paper, and plastics
- Loading and unloading: Loading recyclables onto trucks and unloading them from trucks
- Cleaning: Cleaning recycling yards, materials, and equipment
- Maintaining equipment: Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Safety: Implementing and ensuring compliance with safety programs
- Assisting the public: Providing assistance to the public and receiving visitors
- Record keeping: Recording logs of recycled materials, waste chemicals, and production data
- Complying with laws: Ensuring compliance with chemical waste laws
