Description
Leidos is seeking a Controls Technician to join our growing team, in support of Security Engineering Programs – Center for Information Systems Security. (SEP-CISS) This Controls Technician will support a National Security Sensitive Program, performing work on a variety of HVAC automation projects, primarily at the mechanical level. Daily activities will be directed by the Controls Team Lead and may include: Field Testing & Tuning, HVAC Troubleshooting & Repair, HVAC Preventative Maintenance Actions, Equipment Calibrations, and Automation Programming. This position will work in downtown DC at an undisclosed customer site. While this position will work 6am - 2pm M-F, shift flexibility will be required for sparse weekend & evening work. Due to the sensitive & classified nature of this program, telework is not available.
Primary Responsibilities
- Building HVAC & supporting equipment troubleshooting & repair.
- Building HVAC & supporting equipment preventative maintenance.
- Building HVAC & supporting equipment field calibration & testing.
- Providing daily task updates in the service management tool.
- Supporting other Controls & Automation directives as required.
Basic Qualifications
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret is a must.
- Basic mechanical & electrical knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Proven troubleshooting & repair of HVAC systems.
- Degree is not required; experience and expertise are critical to this role.
- Schedule flexibility (Primary shift is 6am-2pm, M-F with sparse weekend & evening work)
- Strong written and oral communications required.
- Highly effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively relate to Leidos and customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with electric, electronic, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Familiar with DDC hardware and/or software of any of the following:
- Loytec
- Automated logic
- Alerton
- Allen Bradley
- Reliable controls
- Familiarity with reading, drawing, or revising drawings for DDC control systems.
- Building Automation Experience
- SCADA Controls Familiarity

Pay Range:
Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
