The Cyber Staff Analyst is responsible for supporting the cybersecurity operations of an organization by monitoring, analyzing, and mitigating security risks. The role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure the company’s digital infrastructure is secure from emerging threats, assisting in incident response, and recommending improvements to cybersecurity policies and practices. This position also requires knowledge of regulatory compliance and staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends.
Requirements We Look For:
Threat Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor network traffic and system activity for potential security breaches and suspicious activity.
- Analyze security incidents and anomalies to identify trends, patterns, and potential threats.
- Utilize security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls for threat detection.
Incident Response:
- Assist in the response to cybersecurity incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Work closely with the incident response team to develop and improve response plans.
- Document and report incidents, recommending actions to prevent future occurrences.
Security Audits and Assessments:
- Participate in regular internal and external security audits.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
- Ensure compliance with security standards such as ISO, NIST, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Review and update cybersecurity documentation and procedures regularly.
Risk Management:
- Identify and evaluate risks to the organization’s information systems and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure that cybersecurity risks are communicated effectively and addressed appropriately.
Security Awareness Training:
- Assist in the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training programs for staff.
- Promote security best practices and ensure employees understand their role in maintaining security.
Research and Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
- Research new technologies and security solutions that could enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with IT, risk management, and other relevant departments to align cybersecurity efforts with business objectives.
- Liaise with external partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies when necessary.
Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and recommended actions.
- Communicate complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
