This position offers a $3,500 sign on bonus.
Position Overview:
Repairs and repacks evacuation equipment from organization and other suppliers, including minor repairs, testing, assembling units for inspection, and folding & packing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Cleans work area and all parts to be repaired.
- Account for all parts received.
- Assembles product in preparation for inspection.
- Inspects units for defects and performs minor repairs as needed.
- Folds and packs units per procedures and any additional paperwork.
- Completes required Fits and Clearances and documentation during various process stages.
Basic Qualifications:
- HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
- Ability to wear and utilize respiratory protection.
- Ability to pass a required DOT drug test and be a part of a random testing program (due to FAA/DOT requirements).
- Basic communication and computer skills.
- Ability to make accurate measurements and remain within tolerances.
- Ability to read and understand manuals, procedures, diagrams and blueprints.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to complete all training to obtain packing certifications.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Slide pack certifications.
Working Conditions – Physical requirements and environment:
- 100% of time spent on production floor with moderate noise.
- Ability to wear knee-pads and steel toe shoes and other required PPE.
- Constant, daily exposure to adhesive and solvent vapors.
- Approximately 50% of time spent standing.
- Approximately 25% of time on knees pulling with hooks and other packing tools.
- Ability to balance and coordinate physical movements with others on team.
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Ability to pull and lift up to 200 pound packs, with assistance, to cart.
