The Communications Manager is responsible for leading the communications team and will develop communication strategies for the organization. The Communications Manager will coach, develop, and train up the communications team, guiding their continued growth and effectiveness for the organization. The Communications Manager will help to promote the company’s mission to team members, caregivers, and patients through various communication channels through a unified, consistent, and positive approach. The Communications Manager will ensure that employees are familiar with the organization’s mission, goals, policies, and expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops internal and external communication plans and strategies for cross functional project teams and company initiatives
- Develops internal and external communication plans and strategies to effectively communicate to all employees
- Integrates industry best practices to achieve company objectives and deliver communications to employees and patients
- Works to establish collaborative relationships with department managers and liaisons to fully understand comprehensive communication needs and provide subject matter expertise to these groups
- Ensures that all communication materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand
- Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, email, and other updates on behalf of the organization
- Oversees the effectiveness and ongoing utilization of the company intranet and additional stakeholder communication tools. Researches, selects and applies best practice solutions.
- Interviews, hires, and trains communications staff
- Lead and supervise a team of Communications Specialists, setting priorities to meet service demands
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Supports with the development of special event communications as directed
- Drives stakeholder engagement and utilization of various Maxim platforms as assigned
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Journalism, or related field required
- Prior experience in a communications role required with coaching, counseling, or leadership experience highly desired
- At least seven years of experience in communications field required
- Management experience preferred
- Excellent managerial, interpersonal, counseling and coaching skills
- Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to adapt and respond to difficult questions and issues
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent planning, time management, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and to effectively manage multiple projects at once
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) and desktop publishing software
- Proficiency in the English language required
Pay Information:
$80,000-$90,000 + $7500 – $10,000 bonus
