DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented General Manager – Alaska Operations to join our team specializing in General Management for Cummins, Inc. in Anchorage, AK.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Management: Manages branches through Branch Managers. Responsible for all functions and financial metrics for the group of branches.
- Metrics : Responsible for all functions and financial metrics for the group of branches and monitors all appropriate business metrics including Branch balanced scorecards, profit and loss metrics, and asset metrics. Manages market analysis for span of responsibilities.
- Strategic Planning : Develop and manage the Annual Operating Plan to align the branches with the company’s strategic objectives, ensuring consistent performance and growth.
- Market Insight : Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and threats, allowing the branches to adapt and stay competitive.
- Business Growth : Manage the annual marketing and sales plan and build strong customer relationships to drive business growth and expand the company’s market presence.
- Operational Excellence : Manage customer satisfaction through various programs, maintaining high service standards and customer loyalty as measured by Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer programs.
- Quality Improvement : Manage warranty submissions and address repetitive issues to lead to product and service improvements, reducing downtime and increasing customer satisfaction.
- Compliance and Safety : Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards to protect employees and customers, and maintain the company’s reputation for safety and responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in required Business Administration, Engineering, or related subject required.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or Sponsor certification required.
- Significant relevant experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
The Alaska General Manager will be based in the Anchorage facility, but will be responsible for overseeing daily operations for the Anchorage & Fairbanks Branches. In addition there are three satellite locations in Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, and Bristol Bay.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is not required.
- College degree preferred, not required.
The successful candidate must have previous experience leading a team. Experience over seeing multiple locations is preferred.
The General manager is responsible for the following objectives:
- Developing and implementing strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Overseeing the company's day-to-day operations, including managing budgets, resources, and employees.
- Monitoring market and industry trends to determine business opportunities and challenges.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
- Ensuring business compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Analyzing data and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
