Job Summary
Transportation Manager is responsible for managing all duties related to the delivery of all orders to QED customers. They are responsible for the hiring, development and management of the entire Transportation function. The Transportation Manager ensures QED deliver a best-in-class customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Branch drivers along with routing staff
- Responsible to hire, train and develop direct reports
- Stay updated and ensure compliance with all OSHA/DOT/FMCSA Regulations.
- Schedule and assign work to employees, providing necessary materials, equipment and documents.
- Responsible for all equipment, trucks and related preventative maintenance schedules with appropriate vendors
- Monitor all scheduled daily deliveries and ensure customer time commitments are met.
- Responsible to ensure all drivers make timely deliveries with no damage to the product in accordance with Driver SOP training
- Responsible for conducting annual certification of all driver on delivery methods
- Maintains constant communication with drivers, warehouse staff, salespersons and customers.
- Work with lease providers for various reports, i.e., mileage and VCR reports.
- Schedule daily/weekly meetings with drivers.
- Monitor and review routing configurations to leverage cost control measures
- Safety methods training. Space and visibility, Daily safety briefings, stationary object training and post-accident/injury evaluations.
- Partner with Sales leadership to drive collaborative working relationship between sales and operations functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation efforts with business objectives.

Minimum work experience requirements:
- Extensive evidenced success in logistics leadership role
- Extensive experience in supply chain ideally within an electrical distribution business
- Data analysis, understanding of logistics system processes to drive accuracy and efficiency
- Familiar with a variety of the electrical industry concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to develop close working relationships with both customers and colleagues
- Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Possess in depth knowledge of QED computer systems, Eclipse, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Collaborate, mentor, motivate and lead logistics associates in a matrix organization
- Team player who acts in alignment with QED’s strong core values and beliefs
Starting salary: $65,000 - $85,000
