YOUR ROLE
Responsible for overseeing and managing the overall supply chain and production control strategy in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. Responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain to ensure consistent high level of service, quality and customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies and procedures. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Monitor and verify materials pipeline to support Materials Requirement Plan (MRP).
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
- Support launch, model change, and EC activity.
- Implement short and long-term corrective actions for production planning and materials management problems.
- Negotiate blanket purchase orders and monitors cost.
- Manage logistics functions and the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
- Coordinate and manage all materials functions including all purchasing, shipping, inventory, and master scheduling / capacity planning, establishing production priorities through production schedules.
- Collaboration with Production Control Scheduling at the plants to manage day-to-day duties related to raw material planning and inbound logistics to ensure inventory, plant communication and support goals are achieved to satisfy the supply chain strategy.
- Drive performance through superior customer service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending customer matters.
- Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps.
- Focus on safety, cost management and business growth in all interactions and directives.
- Utilize effective communication or negotiation skills, employing diplomacy and sensitivity to resolve critical or escalated issues affecting the customer, staff, or senior management.
- Support customer and senior management to develop a business plan and goals for the supply chain.
- Develop appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
- Direct and coordinate North American supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
- Work with plant, warehouse, and logistics departments to determine and set up intercompany transfers.
- Collaborate with procurement department to determine best practice for freight routing and cross dock consolidation.
- Support proper utilization of ERP and MRP systems.
- Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience.
- Demonstrated skills in organization group process, problem identification and resolution.
- Exposure to project management methodologies with a focus on developing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals, implementing business requirements analysis and testing processes, and identifying timeline constraints, and risks.
- Awareness of common systems and databases for transportation and logistics management.
- Ability to utilize systems and databases for transportation and logistics management and ensure the accuracy of complex databases through auditing, reviews, and analysis.
- Ability to develop complex analytics, reports and communications within transportation and logistics.
- Ability to identify areas to drive efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Capable of communicating complex transportation and logistics information.
- Ability to operate in both a team and individual contributor environment.
- Ability to identify and communicate potential operational or analytical concerns and assist with change management.
- Able to develop reports and presentations.
- Capable of applying fundamental professional principles and practices related to transportation and logistics.
- Knowledgeable of more complex professional principles and practices related to transportation and logistics.
- Understanding of applicable laws, rules and regulations with the ability apply within area of assignment.
- Capable of determining metrics and measurements for transportation and logistics programs.
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of supply chain, manufacturing materials management, logistics or warehouse management experience.
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
