Leidos Security Operations is seeking a proven Executive Protection Manager with experience in leading, coordinating and executing an Executive Protection Program. The job is based at Global Headquarters in Reston, Virginia.
Reporting to the Chief Security Officer and Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO) Chief of Staff, the selectee will be responsible for:
- Recruiting, training, and leading of a four-person team comprised of three protection professionals and one driver.
- Identifying threats and vulnerabilities, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and mitigating responses to ensure the safety of Leidos’ CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and members of the Board of Directors.
- Engaging and collaborating cross-functionally on event and travel schedules and planning to ensure robust protection of key stakeholders.
- Coordinating, budgeting, and managing contracted external services and assessments in support of the Executive Protection Program.
- Planning, and executing the Program’s operational budget.
- Assessing, documenting, and implementing use of force practices, armed protection requirements, and training curriculum as well as proposing changes to policies, procedures, and playbooks related to the Program.
- Ensuring all protection operations comply with company policies and legal requirements while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and discretion.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of experience or additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Completion of a recognized executive protection training course plus at least five years of recent experience leading an executive protection or law enforcement program
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport and driver's license with a clean record
- Be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally and qualify for the Department of Homeland Security’s Global Entry Program
- Possess basic first-aid knowledge and be willing to obtain CPR certification
- Must meet all Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Personal Protection Specialist requirements with the ability to successfully achieve certifications in armed and unarmed personal protection specialist as well as basic and advanced handgun
- Successful completion of defensive driving training
- Proven ability to maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, including under conditions of urgency and in high-pressure situations
- Must be physically fit to provide protective coverage during physically taxing activities
- Knowledge of unarmed self-defense tactics (use of force)
- Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
- Possess analytic ability, creativity, keen attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to address unanticipated issues
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate at all levels
- Proven ability as a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team to deliver high value customer support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Top Secret security clearance
- Experience at the senior organizational level leading dynamic teams
- Active Paramedic, First Responder, and Emergency Medical Technician certifications
- Experience operating security camera systems/CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Experience responding to workplace violence issues
- De-escalation training
- Possess a valid Virginia concealed handgun permit or be eligible to carry under the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act or HR218
- Technical Surveillance Counter Measures experience
- Open source intelligence training or experience

Pay Range:
Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00
