PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Analyst, FP&A/Consumer Business Advisory at our Tysons, Virginia location. The Senior Analyst will play a critical role on PenFed’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team to provide financial insights, strategic analysis, and actionable recommendations to PenFed’s Finance, Consumer Banking, and Executive Leadership Teams. The Senior Analyst will have a strategic consulting mindset with ability to support analysis of business endeavors, research projects, and strategic initiatives. The Senior Analyst will collaborate directly with Finance and Consumer Banking Teams and will actively participate in the development of PenFed’s Financial Plan, ongoing forecasts and financial modeling, performance tracking, and ad hoc analyses to support key business decisions and desired outcomes.

Engage with the Consumer Banking, Finance, and Credit Risk Teams to develop financial forecasts and analysis of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment to PenFed’s financial objectives.
Support budgeting and financial forecasting efforts related to PenFed’s Consumer Banking segment.
Create and maintain financial models to support scenario analyses, financial planning, business cases, and industry analysis.
Conduct industry research and ad hoc analyses in the direction of Finance or Executive Leadership.
Support the Director, Consumer Business Advisory & EDS with development of actionable recommendations to improve performance, mitigate risk, and capitalize on opportunities within the Consumer Banking segment.
Prepare business cases and Board/Executive-level presentations through data visualization and translation of data insights into clear, concise, easy-to-understand content.
Support management of special projects by providing hands-on assistance to organize task plans and follow-up with stakeholders as needed.
Support organizational change and learning by embracing new, flexible, and agile approaches to improve business performance, processes, innovation, and efficiency.
Contribute to PenFed’s culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines to gather data, communicate insights, and share knowledge.
Support the design of PenFed’s financial and company targets, including the development of PenFed’s Balanced Scorecard Goals.
Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or Engineering required.
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in consulting, financial services, or banking.
Demonstrated data analysis skills and the ability to connect data insights to key financial and business issues.
Understanding of bank financial statements, specifically balance sheet and income statements.
Understanding of the retail banking business and/or the credit union industry.
Modeling skills, including the ability to build effective, well-organized, and easy-to-understand models.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organizational skills required with ability to work with all management levels.
Experience working with large datasets and knowledge of various data analysis software packages and tools (e.g., MS-Excel, SQL, Hyperion, PeopleSoft ERP) is strongly preferred.
Experience with key industry data providers, including Callahan & Associates and S&P Capital IQ is preferred.
Hands-on experience in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Data visualization skills: experience in Tableau or other data visualization software is preferred.
Concise, organized written communication and presentation skills, and able to prepare and summarize data effectively for management.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
High degree of initiative and personal ownership.
Time-managements skills and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build and manage relationships with managers and to build relationships with senior management.
Skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
Travel
The ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
