SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Manager Planning & Systems Support is responsible for the implementation of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) at all of the user levels within the Mechanical Department as well as outside the department as applicable. This position oversees all the activities related to training, business process refinement, and user community feedback regarding the implementation through Production Planning & Systems personnel reporting to position. The Manager Planning & Systems Support ensures the appropriate modules are applied with the correct level of detail to each specific location. In addition, this position serves as the communication officer, coordinating the efforts of Facility Experts and Facility Management. This position is the Security Administrator for the WMS software application and interfaces with AT for security administrative tasks including securing LAN IDs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Manager Planning & Systems Support is responsible for the implementation of system improvement, and business process changes related to:
- Preventive maintenance and Inspections of Amtrak maintained rolling stock.
- Forecasting, planning, execution and tracking of all Maintenance of Equipment functions
- Employee labor and material data required for financial system charges for all mechanical productivity including equipment maintenance and repairs and mechanical facility maintenance and repairs and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Complete records of equipment in train service including the enroute mechanical failure tracking system.
The Manager Planning & Systems Support responsibilities also include:
- Implementation activities including business process mapping, communication, training materials, training delivery and site surveys for each facility.
- Communication of department goals, relating the business process changes required to meet them, as it relates to the EAM system.
- Scheduling of and progress reporting of all on site implementation activities, including change management.
- Coordination and implementing all training requests and requirements for both in-house and external customers (contractors, government agencies).
This position also serves as the Training Facilitator
- managing the organization of end user training
- creating training materials
- managing all training documentation
This position serves as the Communication Officer
- publishing meeting notes
- mapping business processes
- notification of outages, upgrades, and enhancements
This position also provides:
- Problem and incident triage, including end user and facility expert interaction, ensuring the proper routing of the trouble tickets.
- The coordination and facilitation of the field-identified facility experts in the business process areas and EAM application.
- Point of Contact for user assistance with EAM the application.
- Direct interface with Mechanical Department Maintenance Facility and Equipment Engineering Management staff to improve EAM system on-site application.
- All implementation and on-site accountabilities for the application of the EAM System as directed by the Manager Production Planning & Logistics and the Chief Mechanical Officer for all Mechanical Facilities system wide.
- Communication both written and verbal to field, internal, and external customers.
- Assistance to internal and external customers in retrieval and interpretation of Mechanical Department data.
The Manager must build enthusiasm about the EAM System Implementation fostering facility management support and commitment. This includes facilitating, oversight of training, promoting re-engineering principles in line with accepted mechanical processes. Develop action plans and set expectations for system implementation and serve as primary contact for the facility working groups.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated multi-disciplined engineering experience with heavy industry or transportation company.
- Demonstrated project management experience and skills.
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation of EAM systems to user groups.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to integrate other common desktop products as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
- Extensive multi-disciplined engineering experience in a transportation company with demonstrated project management experience.
- Degree in Adult Learning, Training, Presentation Platform Skills.
- IT related coursework in Networking, Business Communications, and/or information Systems.
WORK ENVRIORNMENT:
- Position will be required to work in a heavy maintenance repair shop environment and observe all safety rules and regulations including using appropriate personal safety equipment.
- Employee may be required to travel and work in any Amtrak facility.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary range is $113,200-$146,664. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
