About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Functional Test Analyst with hands-on experience in Test Automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile environment, contributing to high-quality software delivery by designing, executing, and automating test cases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to ensure our applications meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Role Responsibilities:
- Test Design and Execution:
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive test plans and cases.
- Execute functional, regression, and system integration tests to validate software functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand features and develop robust testing strategies.
- Test Automation:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit).
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure timely feedback on software quality.
- Identify opportunities to enhance test automation coverage and efficiency.
- Agile Collaboration:
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure timely and efficient test execution in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Provide continuous feedback on the quality of the product and advocate for best practices in testing and quality assurance.
- Defect Management:
- Identify, log, and track defects in the defect management system, ensuring accurate documentation of issues and steps to reproduce.
- Work with developers to resolve defects and validate fixes through regression testing.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in test automation and Agile testing.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on functional testing and test automation.
- Proven experience in working within Agile development teams, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG).
- Experience in working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and integrating automated tests into the build pipeline.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages used in test automation (e.g., Java, Python).
- Familiarity with testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
The role is based at Leatherhead but will be hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)
