Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role
Manages Supplier Action Center (SAC) and Enhanced Supplier Engagement Process (ESEP) activities to ensure product quality for the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and the Buick Enclave. Leads a small group of hourly employees and acts as liaison to third parties responsible for containment sorts and reworks of in-house vehicle components. Responsible for the proper disposition of scrap and rejected components. The team also works closely with the Plant Quality Engineering Team to drive resolution of quality and/or Engineering design issues. This is a 1st and 2nd shift rotational position with timing negotiated between the first and second shift SAC group leaders.
What You'll Do
· Manage all Supplier Action Center (SAC) & Enhanced Supplier Engagement Process (ESEP) activities including coordinating preventive/receiving inspections to detect non-conforming material, providing immediate containment inspections and initiating part rework/repair (if required) to avoid major disruptions to the assembly line related to supplier parts.
· Serve as liaison between Assembly Plant, Supplier and Supplier Quality Engineering.
· Lead emerging issues for supplier commodities to ensure parts are delivered to the line in accordance to GM Standards and Specifications through proper containment actions, root cause analysis, countermeasure actions and continuous improvement.
· Successfully manage multiple projects with broad scope and varying degrees of difficulty.
· Fix supplier quality and engineering issues impacting Global Customer Audit (GCA), Direct Run Rate (DRR), Warranty and Compass.
· Solve problems using Red X and other tools as applicable.
· Develop quality standards and procedures for the plant.
· Assist production in preventing defects and recommend process improvements.
· Work with Launch Team on new vehicle builds.
· Collaborate with suppliers to address SPPS’s (Supplier Practical Problem Solving) issued and ensure robust corrective action.
· Share Lessons Learned with Engineering to prevent repeat design or build issues.
· Review nonconforming parts and sub-assemblies for proper initial disposition and root cause.
· Coordinate periodic system and process audits at the plant and supplier facilities.
· Support quality evaluation of new vehicles with engineering and production.
· Coordinate engineering change implementation and assist in running PTR’s (Production Trial Runs).
· Support execution of all GMS (Global Manufacturing System) requirements.
