The Opportunity and Role
The analyst will contribute to and take responsibility for critical functions throughout the entire process. The position offers an opportunity to gain financial and technical expertise, develop professional skills and build a foundation for career growth within the affordable housing industry.
In this role, you will gain a unique perspective on all things affordable housing. You will collaborate with colleagues, syndicators, developers, and other organizations to evaluate opportunities to support affordable housing.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of the affordable housing industry.
Develop familiarity with all lending and investment policies and procedures of the Bank.
Utilize and become highly proficient in Community Finance’s proprietary financial underwriting template.
Assist in evaluating prospective debt and equity investments in Affordable Housing.
Under the guidance of People Leader or designee, analyze projects’ financing, development budget, construction schedule, operating expenses, debt service, market analysis, and developer capacity.
Day to day will include due diligence, market research, comparative analysis.
Partner with other department areas, including Underwriting, Portfolio & Loan Management and Innovation and Analytics, to gain an understanding of the various roles and responsibilities of other associates within the department.
Assist in the daily activities related to Community Finance’s pipeline management to help achieve CRA and internal profitability needs.
Assist in managing syndicator relationships.
Drafting and collaborating on presentations and associated materials.
Identifying and resolving issues and escalating to direct and senior management.
Complete ad hoc assignments, reports, and analysis
Basic Qualifications:

At least 1 years of experience in finance, economics, accounting or affordable housing
At least 1 year of experience using Google Workspace in a professional environment

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $84,300 - $96,200 for Associate, Community Finance
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
