Diego Garcia: Scheduling/Planning Specialist
The Scheduler is responsible for developing and providing schedules for all projects being planned and performed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the development and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling.
- Duties may include monitoring job progress according to schedules, coordinating with material expediters concerning critical items of supply, participating in expenditure forecasts, and performing schedule analysis.
- Provides priorities for projects to guarantee completion.
- Contributes to forecasts and disbursements by performing schedule analysis.
- Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project controls.
- Displays core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
- Projects priorities develop production schedules for all projects.
- Produces schedules for fabrication, installation, and repair of all systems.
- Correlates project schedules to align with client forecasted master schedule.
- Analyzes production specifications and construction data and performs mathematical calculations to determine the material, tools, and human resources requirements for the schedule.
- Plans and develops workflow for each craft and operation.
- Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for guidance of construction workers.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepares production reports.
- Performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of multiple projects scheduling Primavera P3 or P6 and Microsoft Projects software.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, NAVFAC Maximo preferred to create and label documentation related to schedule status reporting.
- Knowledge of construction projects, resource loading, and staffing, including performing risk analysis and pinpointing scheduling conflicts in advance.
- Ability to interact with all project stakeholders effectively.
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills which enable to effectively liaise with clients, other departments within the organization, subcontractors, and clients, and report directly to the Senior Management.
- Must be detail orientated and have good project management skills.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid and be able to obtain driver’s license in country of Origin.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Knowledge of the Electronic Construction Management System (eCMS) would be considered a plus.
EDUCATION:
- Must have at least a high school diploma is required
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) or equivalent is highly desired.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least three (3) years of construction project management experience and professional hands-on experience with project scheduling facilities related to renovation and construction projects.
- Experience with planning and managing multiple construction projects to meet deadlines.
