Schwab Retirement Plan Services provides third party recordkeeping and retirement plan administration to small, mid, and large size employers nationwide. Schwab believes the provider matters, and we are committed to the financial fitness of all participants and clients. We assist plan sponsors to ensure the plans are operated in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA, following IRS and DOL regulations and plan provisions.
Our group is responsible for preparing earnings calculation corrections for missed deferrals and late contributions. For late contributions, the team is responsible for producing the Form 5330s within the statutory timelines established by the code if needed. Our department works closely with our business partners to assist with higher level client issues and to assist with external auditor requests. Other responsibilities include:
- Responsible for gathering plan data to process earning calculation corrections.
- Prepare client communication for corrections.
- Responsible for reviewing all final calculations prior to billing.
- Required to review and approve funding for plan corrections.
- Review and update processing procedures.
- Meet with business partners to obtain additional plan information to process corrections.
What you have
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant earnings calculation correction experience, accounting, finance, or math background
- 2-3 years Knowledge of ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations for 401(k) plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, specifically Excel and Word required.
- Positive attitude, team oriented, enthusiastic, professional, forward thinker and strong work ethic.
- Excellent math and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen and to explain complex subjects in simpler terms.
- Passion for service and the desire to help and develop people.
- Excellent operational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage complex work.
- Flexible regarding both schedule and role as both may change with little notice in response to business demand.
- Initiative: Identifying what needs to be done and doing it before being asked to or required by the situation.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
