Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Deputy Design Engineering Manager for our multi-disciplinary projects in Canada. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on large, mega design-build infrastructure projects and be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which encompasses a wide range of disciplines including hydro, structural, geotechnical, drainage, roadway, rail, electrical, systems, and materials engineering.

Location
This position is based in our Burnaby, BC, Canada office, with travel required as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead in the pursuit and management of design-build projects, including:
- developing project budgets, schedules, staffing plans.
- writing, reviewing, and administering design engineering contracts.
- managing deliverables, quality and compliance for the assigned project.
- ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Kiewit’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are aligned with our processes and meet our customers' needs.
- Interface and maintain relationships with external design partners and the construction team’s project leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our design process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of design engineering or design management experience, with roles of increasing responsibility.
- P. Eng or U.S. Professional Engineering registration is required, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months from date of hire. Ability to obtain in other provinces / states as projects may require.
- Design-build experience is an asset but not required.
- Technical background as a design engineer in at least one of the typical infrastructure disciplines.
- Experience in design delivery of infrastructure projects from project inception to completion, including support during construction.
- Project management, including commercial management and project controls, is an asset but not required.
- Infrastructure Facilities exp is an asset (not offices, commercial or large buildings)
- Ability to travel to US and Canada as business dictates. #LI-MD1

Base Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
