What does a great Senior Credit Risk Underwriter do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for analyzing and assessing credit worthiness of existing and new national accounts. You will play a key role in documenting deficiencies in account underwriting and referral processes.
What you will do:
- Review a high volume of risk alerts to identify potentially high risk/suspicious merchant processing activity.
- Make real time decisions to properly identify situations that require deeper investigation with the ability to identify emerging fraud trends while also identifying false positive alerts that require no additional action.
- Coordinate risk mitigation and fraud remediation efforts with other areas of the business such as Funding, Legal, Operations, Client Services, etc.
- Individually complete detailed financial analysis of new and existing merchant requests as well as assign credit rating and apply appropriate credit enhancements, where necessary.
- Conduct high level conversations with internal and external clients; maintaining good working knowledge of the Partners’ credit policies and procedures; identifying exceptions to policy and identifying any documentation deficiencies in account underwriting and referral process.
What you need to have:
- 4-year degree or equivalent prior work experience in credit risk, fraud, and or underwriting.
- Experience analyzing financial statements.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
What would be great to have:
- Bachelor’s degree. (Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, etc.).
- Experience with MasterCard and Visa Association rules and regulations.
- Customer Service experience with track record of dealing in adverse situations.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
