What does a successful Senior Data Protection Engineer do at Fiserv?
Within the dynamic and proactive Cybersecurity team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding our technology infrastructure from potential threats. In this role, you'll work alongside dedicated professionals to develop and implement robust security measures while constantly evolving our defense strategies to meet the latest challenges.
What you will do:
- Lead the implementation and continuous refinement of security protocols for Fiserv's technology infrastructure, playing an integral role in shaping the company's cybersecurity strategy
- Collaborate extensively with cross-departmental teams, providing cybersecurity expertise and fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization
- Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation for internal and external use, contributing to Fiserv's reputation as a leader in building trust through transparency
- Engage in rigorous threat analysis and risk assessment, recommending proactive measures to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and prevent potential breaches
- Spearhead the integration of cutting-edge security technologies, platforms, and practices, staying ahead of emerging threats and evolving industry standards
- Participate in security incident response efforts, offering critical support during and after security events, while leading post-incident reviews to enhance future preparedness
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, endpoint protection, and data privacy
- 5+ years of experience in the design and implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity solutions within a large enterprise environment
- 5+ years of experience with data protection software like CASB, O365 (DLP), Forcepoint (DLP), Broadcom, Crowdstrike (Endpoint), Tanium (Endpoint), PKWare (Encryption), and Guardium (Data Monitoring)
- 3+ years of experience defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) for data governance and protection controls
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Advanced cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH)
- Hands-on experience managing security within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring secure and compliant cloud operations
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
- Performance in a leadership or mentorship role, demonstrating your ability to guide and upskill team members in cybersecurity best practices and technologies
