What does a Senior Middleware Architect do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for the architecture, design, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, automating and maintenance of the critical distributed middleware infrastructure. You will use your strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. You will use your excellent communication and collaboration abilities when communicating with key stakeholders and distributed teams.
What you will do:
- Architect and design middleware solutions for enterprise applications, focus on messaging and middleware technologies
- Utilize automation tools and Middleware as Code practices
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate middleware solutions
- Monitor and optimize middleware performance using APM and monitoring tools
- Design and Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Create detailed documentation and automation for middleware configurations and processes
- Provide training and support to development and operations teams
- Participate in on-call rotation for middleware engineering support
What you will need to have:
- 8-13 years of experience in infrastructure and middleware architecture with a focus on messaging and middleware technologies
- 5+ years of experience with, but not limited to IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, and Tomcat
- 5+ years of experience with APM and monitoring tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana
- 5+ years of experience and expertise in automation and Middleware as Code
- 5+ years of experience in automation tools and scripting languages: Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash
- 5+ years of experience with security best practices and regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience with cloud-based middleware solutions
- Certification in relevant middleware technologies
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
