What does a successful IT Ops Technician do at Fiserv?
The IT Ops Technician provides Tier 1 support for IBM Z-Series, IBM I-Series, FTP platforms, and Storage platforms in a 24x7 enterprise environment. You will work across several teams to restore service rapidly during service interruptions while creating tickets from alert messages.
What you will do:
- Monitor IBM I-Series and Z-Series production environments and responds to system messages; and system availability along with IPL Mainframes
- Process batch cycles and executes batch restarts in accordance with established procedures
- Monitor and ensure client data file transmissions route successfully in FTP, NDM and Sterling File Gateway platforms
- Provide information in a clear, concise and quick manner to on-call support
- Create in-depth documentation of processes to support work efforts
- Analyze events, triage and escalate using established best practices
- Provide and receive cross training from immediate support team
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of experience in an IT Operations position working with Mainframe Consoles and File Transmissions
- 2+ years of experience working with TSO, ISFP, CAVIEW, SYSVIEW and IOF
- High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience in applicable field
What would be great to have:
- Experience with batch job CA7 and Control M schedulers
- Experience in batch job processing, batch abend troubleshooting and batch job restart processes.
- Experience with JCL
- ITIL Service Management Tools such as: Remedy9 / Service Now, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Service Level Management/SLAs)
Important info about this role:
- Days of operations: 12- hour shifts. Rotating three- and four-day work weeks.
- Shift hours of operations: 7pm -7am local time
