Overview
Recyclers are responsible for picking up, processing and organizing steady flowing recyclable goods. These include but not limited to large cardboard items, plastic, scrap, refuse and wooden shipping pallets. These items are processed through our clients' balers which the employee will be trained on baler safety protocols and distribution of bales. Everyone is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful and heathy work environment.

Essential Functions
- Communicate professionally at all times with client, teammates and other contractors.
- Employee is responsible for operating in assigned areas and possible use of balers. These areas are subject to change on any given day depending on the client’s needs.
- Employee is further responsible for the safe transportation, loading, and unloading of recyclable goods.
- Complies with all safety, security, compliance and safety standards and procedures established by ABM and our Client.
Responsibilities
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; Climb; Bend forward; Kneel; during their assigned shift. Ability to lift, carry, push/pull and transport 10+ pounds at least 75% of the shift to complete physical tasks related to responsibilities.
- Recyclers must secure the necessary tools to perform their task at the beginning of their shift. Ensure that work equipment is clean and sanitized before, during, and after your shift.
- Trash – remove recyclables from trash or plastic and transports to the proper disposal area, includes the use of a baler.
- Cardboard Processing – Cutting and breaking down of items into gaylords, delivering items to the baler or other assigned areas.
- Wood pallets – Lifting or use of pallet jacks for organizing items to the proper areas. Evaluating condition for possible resale.
- Other Duties - Depending on the assigned area and the number of teammates, an employee may be responsible for any or all the following tasks in any designated area: cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping and dusting. Duties may also change throughout the employee’s employment.
- Come prepared to work with all assigned PPE and weather permitting attire.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must meet all requirements to receive required site badges, including successful completion of a background check.
