General Function:
- (B Grade) is responsible for daily stockroom/receiving and inventory transactions, as well as the physical picking and packing of shop and customer orders daily.
- (A Grade) Trains and oversees daily activities of Stock Room B personnel. Also responsible for troubleshooting problems concerning general stockroom/receiving issues. Must become proficient and capable of providing support to work centers, and the reconciliation of point-of-use inventory locations.
Primary Responsibilities Stockroom B:
- Must be able to work within Belvac's current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements
- Physically and systematically pick both shop orders and customer orders in accordance with the picklist generated by the stockroom/shipping coordinators.
- Processes parts received per procedures, including accurate entry and put-away into Belvac inventory.
- Maintenance of the inventory stock locations, assuring properly identified parts, and consolidation of inventory items within the stockroom locations.
- Processes parts for shipment to subcontract vendors as requested by Production Control.
- Participation in the counting of parts during daily cycle counts and assisting in the reconciliation of variances discovered with the Inventory Specialist.
- Unload inbound shipments, and load outbound shipments as needed.
- Responsible for the proper packaging of parts for both storage and shipment, to ensure product integrity.
- Exhibit proficiency, as trained, in all work instructions, including receiving, inventory maintenance, picking, packing, and kitting, as instructed.
- Must be capable of adapting to business changes, as required.
All preceding criteria, criteria at next level and time in grade requirement of two years (minimum) must be met before eligible for promotion to Stockroom A.
Primary Qualifications Stockroom B:
- Must be able to work and communicate in a self-motivated team environment.
- Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision.
- Must be capable of adapting to business changes, as required.
- Must possess some computer skills (Excel knowledge is a plus).
- Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent certificate.
Primary Responsibilities Stockroom A:
- Accountable for on-time release of machines, work orders, and kit components, to the various locations by their desired completion date.
- Responsible for providing manager with performance to due date monthly and associated issues for non-compliance.
- Must participate in problem solving and issue resolution in conjunction with Inventory Specialist.
- Provide background analysis to Manager for Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions, as needed for resolution of discrepancies.
- Act as a limited back up for Inventory Specialist, as needed.
When assigned to Flow Line area stockroom A must become proficient in the following areas:
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Necker Flow Line workbook, which includes extraction of information from multiple shop orders to create pull sheets for the stockroom.
- Must possess strong communication skills, as daily communications with the Stockroom Supervisor and Equipment Processing Manager are essential to the success of the operation.
- Responsible for verifying the receipt of all Flat Cart parts, and that they are properly staged on the Necker Flow Line. Also responsible for reconciliation of Flat Carts in between jobs.
- Conduct daily cycle counts for the point-of-use locations. This includes reconciling these locations through communications with the flow line mechanics regarding open shop orders when a variance is discovered.
- Maintain a list of known shortages for machine orders, assembly orders, and kit orders. These shortages must also be communicated to production control daily during the daily production meeting.
- Must ensure proper backflushing while closing of operations. This includes moving shortages to the offline operation, removing unneeded components from shop orders, adding needed parts to the shop orders, and updating the engineering revision request workbook as needed to correct bill of material issues.
- Follow add/delete process for all components related to flow line work.
- Support closing of shop orders in the ram build area, as well as the flow line feeder cell.
Primary Qualifications Stockroom A:
- Minimum of 2 years stockroom/warehouse required.
- Capable of performing all Stockroom B activities with proficiency.
- Must possess strong computer skills with above average understanding.
- Must possess intermediate excel knowledge.
- Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent certificate.
Physical Requirements (Both A and B positions)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, as needed, to effectively do activities.
- Although all production areas have overhead cranes, on occasion Manufacturing, Stockroom and Assembly employees may choose to lift items by hand for convenience. It is the responsibility of all employees to follow proper lifting techniques and seek help or utilize mechanical lifting aids as appropriate to avoid potential injury.
