The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell’s delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you’ll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.
Joining our Construction & Manufacturing Team will enable you to build the buildings on which people depend; collaborating with your team to overcome obstacles and fix problems on the job site using your skills. Strong networks are formed on construction projects because everyone on the team depends on each and every team member to get the job done.
In this role, you will manage project-specific safety and health concerns, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the protection of employees, contract partners, clients, and the public.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participate in safety pre-planning and hazard analysis with the project superintendent.
- Initiate and monitor project drug screening procedures.
- Conduct safety orientations and training for all employees and contract partners.
- Enforce Haskell’s Code of Safe Practice and conduct safety audits.
- Stop operations and notify the superintendent in the event of imminent dangers.
- Communicate with the Regional Safety Supervisor (RSS) on all safety issues and perform monthly Safety Evaluation Reports (SER).
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce safety rules per disciplinary guidelines.
- Maintain employee training records and all safety documentation.
- Administer required record-keeping and reporting for regulatory compliance.
- Conduct accident investigations and assist in reporting incidents/accidents promptly.
- Issue permits for confined space and "hot work" as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Minimum of two years of experience in the construction industry.
- Completion of OSHA Course #500 is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
