Lead Engineer, Rotating Machinery
1.JOB PURPOSE:
Provides engineering technical leadership in the areas of rotating equipment of green field LNG project.
During the Execute Phase detailed design project, supervises and leads the mechanical team overseeing the rotating equipment scope of work of the EPC Contractor. Ensures Basis of Design and contractual compliance, safety, and quality from the EPC Contractor. This involves managing multiple tasks and stakeholders, coordinating with both the EPC Contractor and ADNOC Technical Authority, and ensuring that all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities
- The Rotating Equipment team works with the overall Engineering Team forming part of the project PMC team. Specifically the RE Lead shall ensure that all rotating equipment work is completed to the required quality standards as defined in company, project and engineering execution plans.
- Participate as required in technical reviews and quality audits by the PMC group.
- Provide rotating equipment direction to both EPC Contractor and PMC team in the acceptance of design documents, approvals, design discussions, change requests and variations.
- Provides input to a detailed project plan for the rotating subgroup outlining all the necessary activities, timelines, and milestones ensuring that the rotating work is completed on time and within budget.
- Line manages the rotating subgroup, ensuring that all internal deliverables are issued according to agreed schedule and all documentation reviews are submitted within agreed timeframes.
- Attends progress meetings with ADNOC as required on budget and EPC progress.
- Produces weekly report on EPC Contractor which highlights any concerns.
- Design Review: The PMC shall review the rotating design documents prepared by the EPC Contractor, ensuring that they meet all project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards and regulations. Any issues or concerns would be addressed to the EPC Contractor by the rotating team.
- Review EPC Contractor’s documentation including requisitions, specifications, datasheets for contractual compliance, safety, and quality.
- Attending a weekly progress meeting with the EPC Contractors rotating team.
- Provides a weekly summary report to the Manager/Team Leader, Rotating
- Monitors the EPC Contractors procurement and Supplier contract management of rotating equipment required for the project.
- Attend bid clarification meetings as a ADNOC RLNG representative.
- Reviewing deviations against ADNOC standards
- Presenting deviations to ADNOC standards to technical authority for approval.
- Reviewing final technical evaluation report and providing feedback on scope of supply
- Attend Supplier kick of meeting and pre inspection meetings at the Supplier’s main manufacturing location.
- Attend Supplier progress meetings as ADNOC representative.
- Attend commercial meetings on Supplier equipment as the ADNOC RLNG’s representative.
- Spot check EPC Contractor review of Supplier documentation for quality and contractual compliance
- Receive and review Supplier documentation as required, particularly critical information like the inspection and test plans, P&ID’s, layout drawings and weight ad utility documentation.
- Attend Supplier HAZOP, SIL, as a ADNOC RLNG representative.
- Attend FAT, IFAT as a ADNOC RLNG representative.
- Supplier evaluation reports.
- Construction support: support the PMC construction team during the rotating construction activities,
- Support construction and inspection team with rotating technical assistance, including concession requests, site modifications approval.
- Attend weekly meetings with the construction group.
- Commissioning: support the PMC commissioning team during the rotating equipment commissioning.
- Support commissioning team with rotating technical assistance
- Attend weekly meetings with the commissioning group.
- Attend any site acceptance tests as ADNOC RLNG’s representative.

3-Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 12 years. experience in rotating machinery in the LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum 5 years (preferred) in EPC organization. Must have at least 2 years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. managing team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers.
- Skilled in an aspect of rotating machinery such as compressor (centrifugal, reciprocating and screw), pumps and associated ancillary equipment (lube oil systems, gearboxes) and control systems.
- Capable of reviewing equipment requisitions, datasheets, and specifications and vendor documentation.
- Able to perform mechanical design and specification of all non-proprietary equipment (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of ADNOC operating assets or similar facilities.
- Experience in ASSESS and SELECT phase studies including preparation of Scope of Work, Statement of Requirement (SOR) and Design Basis documentation.
- Strong analytical ability with attention to details and knowledge.
- Awareness of operational integrity processes of Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS).
- Awareness of process safety and hazardous area requirements/implications.
