Title:
Mid-level Army AFSIM Support Developer
Serve as a member of the Operations Research Team, providing on-site support to the Center for Army Analysis (CAA) supporting air and missile defense model development and refinement. Provide Operations Research, Mission and Campaign Analysis, and other HQDA/CAA tasks such as TAA and SPAR modeling and simulation support.
- Design and conduct Army Fires analysis using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) tools.
- Develop campaign, mission, engagement level models, simulation tools, and other operations research techniques
- Employ campaign-level and mission distinct representations and analyses of Army Fires, allied and partner forces, and threats.
- Coordinate with Army Fires subject matter experts across the Headquarters Department of Army and other organizations to reflect doctrinal integration and appropriate weapon-system representations.
- Collaborate with other team members to create and script scenarios supporting analytic requirements.
- Support follow-on data review and analysis, post-processing, and data visualization.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of operational problems/ Modeling and Simulation and 2 years of AFSIM development experience required.
- BS degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Math, Engineering) requiring substantial programming/coding experience and 3 years of work experience required.
- Proficiency in C++ and other relevant object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with Army and Army Fires systems
- A SECRET security clearance is required.
- Mathematical Modeling: Ability to apply mathematical modeling techniques in a military context.
- Algorithmic Knowledge: Familiarity with algorithms relevant to modeling and simulation.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in C++ and other relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
- Data Analysis: Familiarity with data analysis tools such as R or Python.
