Ally’s Market and Liquidity Risk Management (MLRM) function helps to create, preserve, and realize long-term value for the Company that is commensurate with accepted risks and consistent with principles of safety and soundness and honest and fair dealing. The MLRM function provides independent, enterprise-wide oversight and effective challenge for Interest Rate, Investment, Liquidity, Counterparty Credit, and Vehicle Residual Value Risks. Team primarily oversees and challenges aspects of the Corporate Treasury, CFO Group, Auto Finance, and Insurance BLs and collaborates with other IRM teams to create effective and efficient ris management. Additionally, MRLM provides enterprise stress testing activities in support of Ally's Capital Plan as well as other periodic stress tests that inform strategic decision-making.
The Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis (STSA) team, a part of the MLRM function, implements and maintains the enterprise stress testing programs that provide a periodic, forward-looking, robust, and repeatable process to evaluate the impact of stress scenarios on Ally’s risk, financial, capital, and liquidity positions. These programs include stress assessments in support of Ally’s annual Capital Plan which is submitted to the Federal Reserve Board. In addition, the STSA team leads the annual horizontal capital exam with the regulators. The STSA team also provides ad hoc support for various projects throughout the Company, which have previously included supporting corporate forecasting efforts, cross-functional projects, and strategic transactions.
