Description: You will be a Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer, Technical Publications- Level 2.
What You Will Be Doing
In this position, you will be in charge of the development and authoring of aircrew flight manuals for
complex military aeronautics systems. You will be required to hold experience with Aerospace Technical Publication aircrew flight manuals both commercial and military. Your primary responsibility in this position is to develop and author aircrew flight manuals for test and production aircraft.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in improving, evaluating, and developing specifications for the activities of flight engineering, navigation, flight safety, crew escape procedures, cargo loading, airfield and air traffic control, radio communications, electronics, and avionics for test and production aircraft.
- Must have a technical publications background in aircrew flight manual development, be highly proficient in the use of electronic authoring/editing software and be knowledgeable of technical manual formats, requirements, and SGML.
- Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with customers, engineering, flight operations and other organizations to define aircrew flight manual requirements.
- Must also possess an extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation, including military specification requirements, logistic support concepts and be able to read/interpret engineering drawings and source data documentation.

Basic Qualifications:
- Holds demonstrated experience with C-130 or similar cargo aircraft platform aircraft systems and operations; considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one aircrew position.
- Holds demonstrated experience in Aerospace logistics and/or sustainment.
- Must be familiar with Engineering drawings/blueprints, Schematics, Acceptance Test Programs (ATPs), and other related materials.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines to develop highly accurate technical manuals.
- Experience in verification and validation of technical publications is highly desirable.
- Ability to work multiple projects of varied size and scope.
- Familiar with technical authoring languages and specifications such as XML, SGML, and S1000D specification.
- Broad experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially MSWord, Arbortext, Adobe, CATIA software tools.
- Must be highly organized; process and detail oriented.
- Self starter and able to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
- Highly self motivated.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communications skills both written and oral.
- Able to think and operate independently with minimal direction.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
