Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Duties: Supports general business operations by providing simply administrative support activities. Basic oral and written communication skills are required. The skills acquired for this job are typically acquired through a high school diploma and 5+ years of experience.
- Task Oriented: Typical duties include general clerical, receptionist and project based work. Under fairly close supervision, works to complete defined tasks in accordance with standard procedures requiring some knowledge of general office procedures.
- Procurement: Serves as Purchasing Card holder for customer directed orders and provides monthly purchasing reports. Maintains records, accounts, and/or correspondence with customers, vendors or other groups.
- Customer Service: Professionally interacts with customers and vendors to ensure efficient ordering and delivery of purchased materials.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success. Assists with processing timecards by monitoring for errors and omissions, and answering employee questions.
Work Environment:
- Location: Hybrid – On-site 2-3 days/week at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required.
- Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Secret Clearance: Must possess DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Task Oriented: Focused on and devoted to completing assigned tasks, especially those that contribute to the success of the contract.
- Microsoft 365: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Communication Skills: Good personnel interaction and basic oral and written communication skills are required.
- Program Management: Provide administrative or secretarial support to a department and/or Manager.
Desired:
- Procurement Experience: Requires ability to perform basic numerical, statistical, and/or financial analysis.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in a collaborative environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovation.
- Defense Sector Experience: Previous experience in the defense sector or with DoD projects.
