Under direction, is responsible for first line supervisory work in the repair and maintenance of Airport facilities such as fences, roofs, streets, drainage, turf, runways, ramps, and taxiways in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Rules and Regulations and in compliance with the Transportation Security Administration. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff. Work Hours7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday; schedule may vary based on operational needs - Reviews daily work assignments with superior to insure compliance with planned schedules.
- Develops work schedules and coordinates work assignments.
- Instructs lead equipment operators on any sketches, specifications, or special requirements pertaining to their assignments.
- Inspects job sites and work in progress for quality of workmanship, conformance of work orders, and observance of safety requirements.
- Keeps records of labor, materials, tools, and equipment utilized on job assignments.
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned employees.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Provides technical assistance to employees on complex repair or maintenance jobs.
- Ensures all standard safety practices and procedures are followed.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Five (5) years of experience in pavement construction and/or maintenance, to include one (1) year of experience as a foreman or crew leader.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
- Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check conducted by Aviation upon employment.
- Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.
Preferred Qualifications- Roadway and/or airfield surface painted markings experience.
- Roadway and/or airfield pavement maintenance and repair experience.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Knowledge of asphalt and concrete pavement maintenance and repair methods.
- Knowledge of operating characteristics and requirements of heavy construction equipment.
- Knowledge of repair and maintenance techniques used on airport facilities such as runways and taxiways.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to ground vehicle movements on active airfields.
- Knowledge of building maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of fence constructing techniques.
- Knowledge of basic supervisory techniques and procedures.
- Ability to set up and shoot grades with a survey transit.
- Ability to read plans and blueprints.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.

- Ability to supervise and coordinate the work of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
