What You Will Do
The Maintenance Manager is primarily responsible for leading a safe, high performing team of technicians that analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs broken equipment, while also performing preventive maintenance tasks. This role is responsible for ensuring that multiple equipment types within the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) are fully operational when needed, and that the facility is kept in good condition. The Maintenance Manager ensures that repair work is performed in compliance with applicable laws. This role is also responsible for identifying capital repair work and the contractors that will perform the work. In addition, the Maintenance Manager is ultimately responsible for the training and development of the Maintenance Supervisors, Mechanics and Maintenance Utilities.
What We're Looking For
• Required to work a set schedule that meets the needs of the facility.
• May be asked to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends based on the needs of the facility.
• Must work in a distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.
• Must be able to use tools and complete maintenance related tasks that require fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to work safely with corrosive materials and at heights of 20+ feet.
• Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds; ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
What You Need To Succeed
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in distribution center operations or related area OR 7 years of experience in distribution center operations or related area with increasing responsibilities
• Leadership experience with or without direct report responsibility
• Experience in mentoring and coaching others
• Experience with repairing/maintaining one or more of the following types of systems or equipment: conveyors, electro-pneumatic PLC controlled systems with photo eye detectors, electrical systems (440V or less), hydraulic and pneumatic systems, forklifts/reach trucks/floor sweepers/yard trucks, automatic systems, HVAC, basic plumbing systems, fabrication/welding
• Proven record of complying with safety requirements, and experience building a culture of safety among subordinates and peers
• If required by applicable law, certifications for performing supervisory electrical work in an industrial facility
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and various technical drawings
• Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills
• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using power equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck, yard truck)
• Familiarity with Crown lift equipment
• Experience troubleshooting and performing simple fixes to PLC programming
• Leadership experience with direct report responsibility
• Experience managing resources, time and budgets
• Experience working with and communicating to leadership all levels of the organization
• Experience taking a lead role in a Corporate-led initiative or leadership experience in another Lowe’s supply chain network facility
• Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the facility
